nature gal with an eye for the little things I am a nature-loving artist. when I pull out my camera, I like to capture the littlest things that we tend to miss because we are too busy. I do not enjoy taking architectural or people pictures much (though I do appreciate the beauty and artistry of these types of photos--specially the black and whites--when taken by others with a keener eye than mine). on the odd occasion that I will turn my camera on a person or group of persons, I favor scenes that tell a story or capture a special moment, and are not posed or forced (I like the subtleties in people's faces when they do not know that their picture is being taken. these are the moments when human expression is most genuine and real). what I enjoy the most, though, is pictures of nature--specially of the small worlds of bugs and of the tiny critters that move about in our shared spaces, going on about their business. these worlds within our world, or worlds outside of our world, are what I find most interesting. we open up a book or turn on the tv to experience another world, but there is so much already happening in our own habitat and overlapping habitats that we just forget to look at. zoos are artificial environments full of sadness, madness and pain. the critters that live in our midst, though everyday robbed by our encroaching world, are the ones that are truly free. I like to see them and to think about them while they are still around.
